So how does monitoring work? In the event of a confirmed alarm activation your external siren will trigger and a signal will be sent to the Alarm Receiving Centre via your telephone line informing them of the activation.
If you have keyholder response the Alarm Receiving Centre will contact any nominated keyholders to inform them that the alarm has been activated and they can attend. If you have Police response the Alarm Receiving Centre will contact both the Police and your nominated keyholders, and both will attend the premises.
There are different types of monitoring including:
Digicom Monitoring or Digital Communicator as it is also known is connected to the Alarm Receiving Centre via an analogue phone line. The telephone line sends the signals from the alarm to the Alarm Receiving Centre in the event of an activation. However the telephone line itself is not monitored so if the line was cut or damaged then the signals cannot be sent.
Redcare GSM is a dual path form of monitoring. The signals are sent down the telephone landline as well as via the GSM phone network. If anything happens to one of the pathways the other one will continue to work. The telephone landline is also monitored by a signal being sent continuously down the landline between your premises and the Alarm Receiving Centre so in the event of a fault or the line being cut the Alarm Receiving Centre are alerted, even if the external bell doesn’t sound.
Dualcom GPRS is another dual path form of monitoring and uses the world wide SIM network. Just like Redcare GSM the signals are sent via an analogue landline and also by the world wide SIM network so if one pathway is cut the other continues to monitor the premises. If you decide to have Dualcom GPRS installed, on our initial visit we will check the strength of the world wide SIM coverage in your area to ensure that the monitoring works at it’s best for you and your business.
Redcare Secure also benefits from being a dual path form of monitoring and in the event of either the landline or wireless network being unavailable the signal to the Alarm Receiving Centre will be sent via the other path. There are 3 variants to choose from with Redcare Secure – Secure 2, Secure 3 or Secure IP and the level of protection depends on the risk level of your business but you have the ability of moving between the 3 levels if your risk requirements change. Redcare Secure works on any telephone landline and is a cost effective choice when choosing the right monitoring for your business.
These days the majority of insurance companies stipulate that an alarm should be monitored by dual path signalling to ensure maximum protection of your business premises and the stock that you hold inside. We can carry out a free survey and install a system that meets all of your insurance company’s requirements.
Audible Only Security System
A Bells only alarm is a simple and cost effective way of protecting your home or business. Once triggered the 115db siren alerts passers by that there could be a burglary in progress and informs the intruder that they have been detected. The bell box also acts as a deterrent to intruders letting them know that if they attempt to break in to your premises they will be detected.
For businesses we recommend you check with your insurance company as most stipulate a monitored system is to be installed to protect business premises.
